Nic Marks - Thought Leader in Happiness Measurement

speaker Nic Marks created a new
measure using happiness and
sustainability as viable
alternatives to GNP in measuring
national progress and success.
Founder of the nef Centre for
Well-being, Nic's ground-breaking
work in economics includes the EU
National Accounts of Well-being (2009), the
UK government's Five Ways to Well-being
(2009) and the Happy Planet Index (2006,
2009, 2012).
Nic has advised the UK government, the
OECD and Coca Cola. He is a board member
at Action for Happiness and wrote 'A
Happiness Manifesto' (TED books, 2011) and
more than 20 publications.
He led the development of the world’s
leading workplace happiness survey as used

Malik Jaffer - Thought Leader: Health Systems Strengthening
Malik Jaffer is an international
advisor in the fields of Health
Systems Strengthening and Human
Capacity Development.
As senior adviser to USAID and
PEPFAR (2006-2013) he helped
the United States, South African
and other African governments to
shape and develop more than a
billion dollars in HIV/AIDS and
healthcare programs for more
than 700 organizations with
millions of beneficiaries.
Malik is director of InHappiness
Foundation, Special Advisor to the
Board of the African Palliative
Care Association, and has received more than
20 academic and professional awards for
humanitarian service and more.
He is a popular keynote speaker and has co-
authored the book Healing with Happiness
(2010) and more than 50 scientific papers
and conference presentations.

Alex Linley is a world leader in
measuring and building
strengths.
He founded the Centre of
Applied Positive Psychology in
2006, serves as Visiting
Professor in Psychology at the
University of Leicester, and
consults to organizations
including Unilever, Ernst &
Young, HSBC, Allied Irish Bank, and
Boehringer Ingelheim.
He wrote the #1 bestseller The Strengths
Book (2010), Positive Psychology in
Practice (2004), and has contributed to
more than 150 research papers and books.
In demand as a keynote speaker, Alex has
been featured by the Wall Street Journal,
BBC news and other international media.
He led the development of the world’s
most comprehensive strengths survey as
used in the Building StrengthsTM program
from InHappiness.
Alex travels worldwide from his base in

Bill Gee - Thought Leader in Aerobic Laughter
Bill founded InHappiness Foundation
in 2007 and developed the world's
first happiness program to use
therapeutic laughter and be rolled
out to more than 50 thousand
participants.
He has provided happiness programs
to public health organizations
including USAID, FHI 360, World
Vision, Jhpiego, and departments of
social development and education,
and to businesses including Ford, Standard
Bank, Anglo Gold Ashanti, Xtrata Minerals and
the International EAP Association.
Bill featured as a therapist on Big Brother
Africa (30 million viewers in 46 countries). He
has written Healing with Happiness (2011) and
more that 25 international conference
presentations including two for AIDS
International in Vienna (2010) and six for the
American Public Health Association Annual
Meeting (2012).
Bill has spoken and led Aerobic Laughter
sessions for millions worldwide live and also
on television and radio.
